Natural treatment of psoriasis

Homeopathic eczema relief

Taking strong prescription drugs everyday? No thank you!!

Having practiced for many years, I have learned not to take what is written in homeopathic books (written 220 years ago!) religiously, age old homeopaths are very fond of saying that you must never take mint whilst taking homeopathic remedies, or not to drink coffee whilst undergoing treatment or even not to take conventional medicine!

I always tell my patients that homeopathy works well both alone and alongside conventional medicine, so they do not need to worry.

Some of my skin patients are taking conventional medication for it or have been putting steroid cream from a long time. Homeopathy will work even on these cases.

That being said however, if there is a way that my patients can be happy and healthy without having to take strong prescription medication every day then of course I am happy to help!

Benerji Protocol for Psoriasis

A CASE FROM MY PRACTICE

One of the patients where this was the case, was Emily’s case.

Emily had developed Pustular Psoriasis in her hands, feet and leg, problems began to arise the such as that she was told that it could not be 100% fully cured with traditional medicine.

And the second problem was that the medication she was going to be given was very strong, so she began to consider other options.

If I am being 100% honest, to say that the drug they were going to give her was strong is an understatement…  An immunosuppressant, normally a chemotherapy agent, and immune system suppressant....

One of the things that most scared Emily was that she was asked by the nurse if she wanted to have children. When she said that she did, the conversation that followed was difficult to hear and in short stated that the properties of the medicine are not great to be taking if she wanted to conceive.

It saddens me to hear that so many people don’t even know of the other options available to treat conditions, in fact a natural treatment that is effective. In my practice I welcome both, patients that take conventional medication and patients who don’t. Have a look at this blog to find homeopathic remedies for different skin conditions.

Without further ado, this was the case!

When she came to see me her hands and the sole of her feet where covered in itchy psoriasis, for those of you who know what its like to have this type of psoriasis… you’ll know the struggle!

Imagine having constantly itchy skin, cracking yellow pustules and painful blistering all the time, that is not only physically painful but also draining to constantly walk on cuts that itch and burn whenever you walk!

I know…. all horrible symptoms of this type of psoriasis!

BANERJI PROTOCOL TIP FOR ECZEMA AND PSORIASIS

  • Hepar Sulph 200 every other day and Arsenicum album 200 twice per day or -one dose every other day
  • Graphites 200 every 3r day and  if Hepar Sulph fails to improve.
banerji protocol eczema

IN HER OWN WORDS

So where is she now? Why don’t I let Emily tell you “I have now been undergoing treatment for two years and I can solemnly say it was the right decision, I only have a small patch of psoriasis left on one foot I have managed it and will continue to manage it with only homeopathy."

You read that right! An incredibly complex condition like Pustular psoriasis was managed solely by homeopathic remedies, without any need for the medication!), some of the remedies that she had received where part of this Banerji Protocol and some others where added over the whole period she was under homeopathic care.

"I find the treatment very effective and I feel good knowing that I do not have to use steroid cream or immune suppressants, which are both strong prescription drugs.”

This case goes to show that although sometimes-complex cases are difficult to treat, they are definitely treatable!

I will always be honest with my patients and let them know that everyone gets better at their own pace and with such a deep chronic problem such as Psoriasis unfortunately it is not from one day to the next that you are going to see results.

However I also assure my patients that if they give me their commitment I will invest my time, care and expertise to help them live the best life they possibly can.

Hello Cristina,
I have been learning Banerji protocols and methods from an American homeopath since 2015 and only just discovered your website last week, it's great! Sometimes, the protocols call for us to "mix" 2 remedies in the mouth. Is that how we are meant to administer the Hepar Sulph and Arsenicum in this case? Or take them separately every second day? Thanks so much for your generosity in sharing these tips and your experience!

No, in this case you dose the remedies apart. The Banerjies suggest Arsenicum Album 200 twice daily but if the itching is not too bad, you can start with every other day.

How long do you take the remedies for?

Cristina

You will take then for two months and assess. If there is a small improvement you continue for as long as needed. It can take many months to work with skin.

Would that be the case for an infant as well? Who also has digestive issues?

Yes, the same for adults or children

Hi,
Would this remedy work for guttate psoriasis also? Psoriasis started shortly after son had strep virus. Lasted three months and healed on own with some topical creams. Guttate psoriasis has returned 10 years later.

Thank you for all the information you provide in the blogs. They are so informative and useful. I have followed the teething remedies suggestion from your blog & it has helped so much. Thank you. My 6 month old also has eczema with severe itching, should I start with lower potency and if the itching/rash does not improves, try the higher potency?

Also, for sever eczema itching the Banerjee protocol suggests, Coffea cruda 200CK, what do you think about that?

Thank you and hope to get some availability in your calendar soon(from USA)

I am glad my blog content is useful!

I am afraid I can not give individual recommendations to cases on my blogs. But I think your thoughts seem reasonable to me.

Coffea Cruda is used as a therapeutic for calming down the nervous system when the itch is too much to bear. This remedy is adjunct to the protocol but not for the skin.

Thanks so much for your wonderful information! I have non-itching eczema of some sort between the fingers of my hands, almost like patchy hard areas of severely dry skin. My dad had the same. I know you can’t take my case here, but would this protocol work for non-itchy eczema also?

Cristina

Yes, you can try this protocol, no problem. Of course it is dependable of what is the issue with your skin. Eczema tends to be a bit itch, so this may not be eczema.

would this work for seborrheic dermatitis which is only on the scalp and nowhere else? In the Banerji book they also advise to take Tuberculinum bac. once a week. What is your opinion about that?

Reply
Cristina

Yes it would. Yes, you can also add Tuberculinum or start without it, there is many ways to work on a case! You could add it later on or start with it also.

Hi Cristina, Im a fond joneopathy entusiast and your blog is full of such valuable information. I Know this is a post about psoriasis, but wondering if there is a Banerji Protocol for sagging/flabby skin I lost some weight and after years of painful treatments such as needling and mesotherapy mi skin does not improve.

Is there a Banerji Protocol that you know can help me, please?

Thanks!

I am glad you enjoy my blogs, Joseph. Unfortunately if your skin is sagging after loosing weight, homeopathy can not really help with that, it can not shrink the skin! I do not think this has an easy solution, specially if you had a lot of weight loss and there is a lot of stretch skin.

If the Hepar Sulph wasn't successful and we switched to graphites, would that replace the arsenicum as well or would you keep dosing Ars. and just replace the Hepar Sulph with the Graphite dosage?

Cristina

The Arsenicum is also part of the second line, so you would still use the Arsenicum when you switched to Graphites.

My adult son has seborrheic dermatitis on his scalp/head only. after washing the hair, the flakes are gone, but after a day or two, the sticky large flakes are again all over the scalp and come in patches. He has been using the BP of Tuberculinum once a week and Hepar sulph every alternate day and Arsenicum album twice daily. My question is: since there is really not much itching, which only starts after 3 days, should he still be using the arsenicum twice daily or, would it be better to use it only every alternate day, as you suggest above? Also, can I add the graphites , or should I only start the graphites if there is no change in the condition after 2 months of trying?

You can move to every other day or use Hepar200+Arsen200 every other day. Another option is to use Arsen 6c twice daily, and I prefer that one if the itch is not too bad.
You should wait to move to the second line once when the first one does not produce any results.
But remember that 5-10% improvement is ok, then you continue.

Hello, When using this protocol (Arsenicum 200 twice daily and Hepar Sulph 200 every other day) what is your opinion of increasing the frequency of the Arsenicum to every few hours if itching comes on in between doses? Thanks so much.

Reply
Cristina

Yes, of course! The blogs are general and a bit conservative as they are aimed to anyone reading it. But I use twice daily most of the time if the itch is very severe.
In general dosing, if the remedy is helping but it does not hold from one time to the next, then you need to dose a bit more frequently. In our training we were told to go up in potency in these cases but that often does not solve the issue or is not the most gentle. The Banerjies teach us to dose more frequently and this is what produces better results in my opinion and experience ( and theirs).

Thank you so much for this wonderful blog! I have psoriasis and am eager to try this protocol. I have a very basic question, as I am new to homeopathy. Banerji protocol is arsenicum album 200ck twice daily, but how many pellets do I take for each dose? The bottle reads 5 pellets for their dosage, but I wanted to make sure I was following your recommendations appropriately.

Thank you :)

Hello Jani, so glad to hear you enjoy my blogs!
Ope pellet is one dose in my clinic. All of my patients do this and the protocols will still work. Their book suggests two pellets as a dose so as you can see there is variations. You can take more if you with, but the amount of pellets is not relevant to the result.

Hello, and thank you for being willing to teach and instruct! Your website has helped us a great deal.
A question regarding adding graphites 200 every 3rd day: if I were to take a dose on Wednesday, for example, then I would take the next dose on Sunday, if I understand that right?
Thanks so much.

Hi! So my daughter has very itchy patches on her hands starting every fall. We did petroleum for a few months with no improvement then switched to the arsenicum/ hepar protocol and it seemed to get worse. Been doing that for a few months as well. Time to try graphites? Should I continue with the arsenicum?

It is always very important to understand what you are treating in order to apply the correct protocols or remedies. Itchy skin is very general!
If something is not working, change to something else, specially if you have been doing that for a few months.

Thanks for your response! It's definitely itchy patches of rough eczema... spots and larger patches on the tops of her hands, I should've clarified. Just switched to the graphites, hopefully we'll see improvement soon. For itching that wakes her up at night we've been doing coffea. Any other suggestions to quell the itch?

Will this work for severely itchy eczema due to metal, latex and some food allergies?Eczema started on the stomach, from what I believe jeans buttons, and spreaded all over, face included.I tried sulphur and now graphites. With the second I felt some relief, but then today was again itch day.
The tiny bumps leak some yellow liquid upon scrathing.Cold water does help, but only for minutes.Eczema worse from heat and certain clothing, but never itchy at night.I also have hashimoto's,celiac and alopecia (and most likely other autoimmune disorders).

Will this work for a case of eczema with severe itching from morning till night (during the night while sleeping is fine, with no itching),severe oozing ,redness and swelling? Also, eczema seems to be spreading without scratching too
Have already tried sulphur, and now on graphites, but it's only getting worse. Certain clothing makes it inflamed.
Thank you.

What does it mean when things work then stop working? For eczema I’ve been doing Arsenicum 200 twice a day, Hepar 200 every other day, and Coffea 200 as needed for itch. I saw a huge overnight difference! Then after a week or so, it stopped working and flared big time. Coffea still works like a charm for itch. Also, generally speaking, how long does a person do these protocols? Until they get relief or until it’s gone?

Reply
Cristina
4/23/2022 01:01:25 pm

That is tricky Mary, when something like this happens it means you need to understand the whole context of the case to understand what it may be happening.
You will do the protocols for as long as there is relief and there is a positive change in the symptoms.
